Working at Mayville

Just a short distance from the seafront and Southsea's rich cultural heritage

Mayville is located in the heart of Southsea, a short distance from the seafront and open green space of the Common. Shopping and eating out are well catered-for in the surrounding areas of Albert Road and Palmerston Road. Class sizes are small throughout the school and our staff enjoy working in a supportive, family environment.

Our ethos of 'excellence through nurture' is founded on a culture of respect – Mayville children are considerate, courteous and kind. Small teaching groups enable staff to tailor learning and devote time to pupils' individual needs. Our independent curriculum allows for flexibility and creativity. As such, our pupils are able to achieve their own personal best, with high value-added outcomes. At Mayville, excellence is a broad metric, where academic achievement forms just one component of our 'whole child' approach. Pupils are encouraged to discover and develop their own talents and interests and ultimately, take their place in society as confident, independent and empathetic young adults.

Our staff are passionate and dedicated to making a difference in children's lives. Small class sizes and working in close-knit teams make Mayville a friendly, vibrant and rewarding place to work.
