Last week's Christmas Fair raised £1298.13 for the Mayville PTA. Year 10 (L5) pupils devised and delivered a range of stalls and games, including face painting, temporary tattoos and a human fruit machine! Their business ventures contributed £183 profit towards this total.

Throwback Thursday… to our Prizegiving Showcase – a celebration of dance, music and theatre from Junior & Senior School pupils.

As part of their study of ecosystems in geography, Year 8 (L4) visited the Living Rainforest near Newbury. Exploring the glasshouses allowed them to observe different species of plants and animals, learning about how they have adapted to live in tropical rainforests.

You may have spotted Rafe (Y7/R) dancing as part of our recent Prizegiving Showcase. Outside of school, his dedication to latin and ballroom (training six times per week!) has brought him considerable competition successes. Dancing with his partner at the Home Counties Championships, he claimed two firsts and a second place. In the recent UKA Premier Dance Festival, he picked up two second place awards in his age category and two firsts in the SEN round. Amazing work, Rafe!

Huge congratulations to Tabitha (Y10/L5), for being selected to represent Hampshire as part of their Under-16 Girls' Player Development Group. This elite rugby programme gives her access to top coaching, development and playing opportunities, as part of the RFU's Girls' Pathway. She has also been selected to represent the Egg Chaser 7s Academy U16 squad for the United World Games in Austria next year. Way to go, Tabitha!

Mrs Hindson reports on our U13 netball team, who played Meoncross yesterday: Improved footwork and passing skills, combined with excellent shooting, meant their performance was consistently high in each quarter of the match. Equally, the defence worked hard to intercept and break down the attacking play from the opposition. The players of the match, as nominated by Meoncross, were Sienna (in attack) and Amber (in defence). Final score: Meoncross 2 Mayville 13
